What about getting the snake from the tub back into its cage?  After u have fed it?  If ur snake is 6 + feet long and still in feeding mode?

i too have always used the feeding in seprate tanks, but had corn snakes it was doable

They talk about it on snakebytes about if you should use a feedingbox or not. It's genarallly up to you if you want to use one... Myself never used one (used to have an 4½ meter python years back). Just make sure that the snake get used to you and don't let him think you are food and you'll be fine....

I just got my first ballpython a few days ago, and I'll feed it sometime this week. I'm also asking myself the same question, and I also wonder about the fact that the snake will regurgitate it's prey if handled right after feeding-time. If I'll feed my snake outside the cage, how long do I have to wait to pick it up again and put it back without having it puking?

I would wait at least 48 hours after feeding my snake  before picking it up.   But thats just me others say wait till the bump is gone.  but 48 hours works for me.

Ah, I see, then I'll feed my snake in the cage. Ok, swallowing substrate might be a problem sometimes, but I don't think the snakes summon people to pick their mouths clean when they get dirt in their mouths in the wild either...

I do not have snakes but is it possible to feed the snake in one end of the terrarium and stand in the other end when cleaning and handling the snake? Would that help? How are the snakes sight? Can you use a, lets say a bright red raincoat, everytime you going to feed it and not have that on when handling it. Could that trigger the right responses in a snake?

There pretty much an instict animal ...  if it thinks its gonna get food its gonna EAT.  only thing you can do to help really it be sure to open you age EVERY DAY.   mist ... chang water boals.  pick up your snake often (i know some people here will say no)  but if you open your cage 10 time and only feed once.   it usually will help.  my snakes now as soon as i have a rat in the room, there in Hunt mode.   otherwise they just sit coiled up and dont move.  You sort of learn with time what works best for you.

As a keeper of mostly venomous snakes i would say it all depends on what type of indidual snake you are feeding or what typ of layout our terrarium has.

I feed most of my snakes in the terrarium. I only take snakes out to feed when there is a group of very food "agressive" snakes that share the enslosure. This is just a precation to avoid them bitting each other nothing els.

I have some snake that wont eat if i take them out, it distubes them to much.

So in conclusion it all depends on what type of situation you are dealing with. Do you have a singel snake in the enslosure their is no need to place it in a separate feeding-box.
But if you have more then one snake in the enslosure and one or both snakes are very feeding "aggressive" it can be a solution to take one of them out or just "babysit" them so nothing bad happens works very well to.
But for me that would be impossible as i have around 50 terrariums, i dont have that many eyes ;-)

Snake do NOT get more aggressive by beeing feed in their enslosure. That is a old stupid myth. If it's a non-venomous snake a bit won't kill you anyways so just take a bite "like a man" ;-) But if it its venomous, keep hands etc out of reach and you have no problem.
